1) I chose to use LowPoly as my portrait style because I felt that it would be the right amount of challenging since I felt that the mark making was “easy” when we did that as a project and I wanted to be somewhat challenged since this was a final project. The vector portrait would have taken me too long to do and I did not want to rush to get this project done because the project would not hav e looked as good as I wanted. LowPoly provides the right amount of challenge and yet was easy enough for me to accomplish in a timely manner.
2) I primarily used the polygonal lasso tool to create the triangles to give the portrait the LowPoly effect and then used the LowPoly action that we created in class. I used the paint tool to paint between the spaces between the triangles so that the image would look like the original yet have that LowPoly vibe.
3) Some of the challenges I faced when completing this project we’re paying too much attention to details that wouldn’t matter since no one would be looking at the project as close as I would be since I had to zoom in for some parts of the project. But in the end I think the project came out well and I finished it for when it was due.
4) The weave was definitely a challenge for me because I felt the need to redo it many times to get the weave to look right. Many times I felt as though I deleted too much of the LowPoly part of the project and that it looked too dark because of the black and white image. After a while I decided to go with this version of the weave because I changed the opacity of the gradient to be less than 100% so that it wouldn’t be as dark. I tried different sizes of the weave and at one point made the spaces between the stripes too big. Then I tried less stripes but I ultimately decided to weave the entire thing, with spaces of only one small box in between.
